Roofs and siding up I-45 in the Montgomery County seat, from the courthouse square out to Lake Conroe.
Conroe started as a sawmill town: Isaac Conroe set up his mill here in 1881, and the 1931 discovery of the Conroe Oil Field turned the place into a boomtown. Today it is the seat of Montgomery County, about 40 miles up I-45 from downtown Houston.
The housing splits into two eras. Close to downtown and inside Loop 336 are the older houses, whose siding and trim have taken decades of East Texas sun and rain. Out along Highway 105 and toward the lake, newer subdivisions have filled in as the city boomed; between 2015 and 2016 Conroe was the fastest-growing large city in the country.
Those two groups raise different questions. The older houses are often on a second or third roof, with siding that has seen better days. The newer ones are mostly on their first roof, and the question is whether a storm has shortened its life.
Many of the newer houses here are still on the original roof the builder put on, and nobody may have been up on it since the closing. A free inspection tells you where it stands now, before a leak makes the decision for you.
An older house near downtown can carry more than one layer of shingles, with decking at the eaves that needs attention. We remove the old layers, repair the problems that turn up beneath them, and keep in touch with you until the new roof is on.
Old wood siding on a Conroe bungalow tends to soften along the bottom courses and around windows. We replace the damaged siding, and if the roof is due too, both can go on one schedule.
Storms that come up from the Gulf and across Montgomery County can leave damage that is hard to spot. If a storm went through, have the roof looked at before you assume it came through fine. We explain what we find and how the claim process works if you decide to file.
Downtown Conroe grew up around the courthouse square and the Crighton Theatre, which opened as a movie house in 1935, and the oldest houses in town sit on the streets nearby. A house that has been re-roofed more than once can carry extra layers that add weight and hide what is happening to the wood underneath.
On a house like that, sagging decking and old water stains can say more than the shingles do, and we tell you what we find. When the siding is in the same condition, doing the walls and the roof together makes it one project instead of two.
Out Toward Lake Conroe
Lake Conroe sits northwest of downtown on the West Fork of the San Jacinto River. It was finished in 1973 to give Houston another source of drinking water, and homes have filled in along its shoreline ever since.
Whether the house is on the water or a few streets back, a roof replacement is the easiest moment to deal with tired gutters, because the edge of the roof is already open. We can do the roof and the gutters together when both are worn.
Reasons Conroe Families Pick Roofshire
Close by, all year. Our north Houston office is a straight run down I-45, and we are there after storm season as well as during it.
Old houses and new. A downtown house with several roofs stacked on it and a subdivision house still on its first one raise different questions, and we answer the ones your house raises.
Roof and siding on one job. When a house needs both, one contractor and one schedule keeps the work short.

Do you cover all of Conroe, including the homes around Lake Conroe?
Yes. We work in Conroe from the older streets near downtown out along Highway 105 and toward the lake. If you are not sure whether your address is in range, call and ask.
My Conroe house is only a few years old. Does it need an inspection?
A newer roof can still take hail or wind damage that is hard to see from the yard. The inspection is free, and if the roof is fine we tell you so.
Can you replace the roof and the siding on an older Conroe house at the same time?
Yes. We install siding as well as roofs, and on older houses near downtown both often need work. Doing them as one project keeps it to one contractor and one schedule.
A storm came through Montgomery County. What should I do?
Have the roof inspected. We show you the damage and explain how the claim process works. Whether to file is up to you, and the claim is between you and your insurance company.
Is your office in Conroe?

Wonderful to work with. They worked with the insurance company and the HOA. We have solar panels and they have a great team that handled lifting and reinstalling the panels so that the roofing team could repair and shingle the roof. The work done is top quality. They whole team, yes that includes sales and every one, communicated with us every step of the way. It was great to see the pride in workmanship as well.
