Many of the roofs we replace were damaged by hail or wind, and many of those homeowners go through an insurance claim. If you have never filed a roof claim, the process can feel like a maze: inspections, an adjuster visit, paperwork with line items you have never seen before, and a decision about who does the work.
This page explains where Roofshire Construction fits in that process. The short version: we inspect the roof for free and show you the damage, we explain how a roof claim generally works, and we can meet your insurance adjuster at the house to look at the roof. If your insurer approves the work, we do the job to the approved scope. The claim is between you and your insurance company, and you decide whether to file.
Customers mention in their reviews that we kept them informed at every step. That is the part we can do well: keep you informed, answer your questions about the roof in plain English or in Spanish, and stay in touch at every step until the job is done.

How the Roof Claim Process Generally Works
Every insurance company and every policy is different, so treat this as the general shape of it rather than a promise about yours. Your policy and your insurer have the final say.
1. A free inspection
It starts on the roof. We inspect it after the storm, looking for hail strikes, wind-lifted or missing shingles, damaged flashing and vents, and then show you the damage we found. If the roof does not have storm damage, we tell you that, and you have not spent anything to find out. Our hail and storm damage page goes into what we look for.
2. You decide whether to file
Once you have seen the damage, you decide whether to open a claim with your insurance company. That call is yours to make, and you make it with your insurance company. We can explain what the process usually involves so you know what to expect before you pick up the phone.
3. The adjuster looks at the roof
If you file, your insurance company typically sends an adjuster to inspect the roof. We can meet your insurance adjuster at the house to look at the roof. The adjuster works for your insurance company and makes the assessment.
4. Your insurer decides
After the adjuster's visit, your insurance company decides what it will approve and sends you its paperwork, which usually lists the work line by line. Questions about that paperwork go to your insurance company.
5. We build to the approved scope
If your insurer approves the work and you choose us to do it, we do the job to the approved scope. If your house has solar panels, we can arrange for them to be lifted and reinstalled so the roof underneath can be done, as we did for one customer. If you are in an HOA, check what it requires. One customer wrote that we worked with their HOA.
6. Clean-up
When the roof is done, the crew cleans up the site, and we make sure you are happy with the finished job.
What We Do, and What Stays Between You and Your Insurer
Texas draws a clear line between a roofing contractor and the people who handle insurance claims, and we stay on our side of it. It is worth knowing where that line is before you sign anything with anyone.

The claim is between you and your insurance company, and you decide whether to file. Questions about your policy, the claim and any payment go to your insurer. Our part is the roof: the inspection, the explanation and the work.
Storm claims often involve more than the roof. If hail also damaged your gutters or the siding on the storm side of the house, we do that work too, so it can be scheduled with the roof replacement.
