Conroe has two kinds of roofs that need two kinds of attention. Near the courthouse square, many houses have been re-roofed more than once and carry the history of every patch. Out toward Lake Conroe, many roofs are the originals, and a repair is usually about catching a storm-related problem before it spreads.
Roofshire Construction repairs roofs across Conroe and the rest of Montgomery County. You start with a free inspection, then receive a free estimate describing each repair in plain terms. If we think a repair will not hold, we tell you why.
Our roof repair page lists every type of repair we take on. This page covers what we tend to find on Conroe homes.

Locating the Real Source of a Leak
The wet spot on a ceiling is where the water finally fell, not where it came in. A leak can start at a nail that backed out, a cracked vent collar or a gap in the flashing, travel down the decking, and appear in a different room. Sealing the shingles directly above a stain is a guess, and guesses come back.
We look for the trail. Inside, that means stained rafters, damp insulation and spots where light shows through. Outside, it means matching those signs to the part of the roof that sits uphill. On an older Conroe house with several layers of shingles, the path can be harder to read, so we take the time to follow it.
Once the roof is sealed, we can also repair the stained or sagging drywall inside.
Older Homes Inside Loop 336 and Newer Ones Off Highway 105
The older streets
A house near downtown may have a newer layer of shingles laid over an older one, sometimes more than once. That extra weight and those buried layers can hide softened decking at the eaves, rotted fascia, and old flashing that was never replaced. A repair on a roof like that has to account for what is underneath, not just what is on top.
When the siding on the same house is failing too, the repair visit is a good time to look at both, since water that gets behind old siding and water that gets past the roof edge often end up in the same wall.
The newer subdivisions
Toward the lake and along Highway 105, many houses still have the roof the builder installed. These roofs are often in decent shape overall, which makes a targeted repair the right answer more often than not. The usual trouble spots are pipe boots, ridge caps and shingles lifted by wind on the most exposed slope.
Because nobody may have been on one of these roofs since the house was sold, small issues can sit unnoticed for years. A free inspection gives you a clear picture of a first roof while the fixes are still small, and before a summer of heavy rain finds the weak spots.
Hail, Wind and Storm Repairs
Storms moving up from the Gulf and across Montgomery County can crack shingles, strip granules and break the seal that holds a shingle tab flat. None of it has to be visible from the ground to let water in later. If a storm has passed through, an inspection is the way to know.
Damage on one slope can usually be repaired. Damage spread across the whole roof is a bigger conversation, which our storm damage roofing page walks through.
If you suspect storm damage, filing with your insurer is your decision, and the claim is between you and your insurance company. We can meet the adjuster at your house to go over the roof. If your insurer approves the repair, we carry it out to that approved scope.
Flashing, Pipe Boots and Valleys
Flashing
On an older roof, the flashing at chimneys and walls is often the original metal, bent back into place and sealed over during each reroof. Eventually there is nothing left to seal to. We replace tired flashing instead of adding another layer of tar.
Pipe boots
The rubber collar on a plumbing vent breaks down under the strong Texas sun, often years before the shingles do. A split boot sends water straight down the pipe into the attic, and swapping it out is one of the simplest repairs there is.
Valleys
Where two slopes meet, the valley carries twice the water. Worn shingles, debris buildup or a poor original install in a valley can open a leak that shows up far from the valley itself.
Should You Repair or Replace?
Repair is the right move when the roof is mostly sound and the problem is contained. It is the wrong move when a spot has been patched before and is leaking again, when shingles are curling and shedding across the roof, or when the decking has gone soft. On a house carrying more than one layer, that point can come sooner.
When we see it, we price a roof replacement alongside the repair and show you the difference. You make the call, and the crew cleans up the site before leaving.
