Concrete around a house does a lot of quiet work. The driveway carries the cars and the trucks, the walkway gets you to the front door in the rain, and the patio is where the grill and the chairs live. When any of those cracks, settles or starts holding water against the house, it becomes a daily annoyance and sometimes a real problem.
Roofshire Construction does residential concrete across greater Houston as part of our general contracting work. Roofing is most of what we do, and if you already know us from a roof job, it is easier to have the same contractor come back for the patio or the walkway than to start over with someone new. If you have never worked with us, a concrete job on its own is just as welcome.
Every concrete job starts with a visit. We look at the area, talk about what you want it to do, and give you a free estimate. We stay in touch at every step until the job is done, and the crew cleans up the site.

Residential Concrete We Pour
Patios
A new patio off the back door, or a larger one to replace a small slab that came with the house. We talk through the size, the shape and how it meets the house before we price it.
Driveways
Replacing a cracked or sunken driveway, or adding to one that is too tight for the cars you have now. The old concrete comes out and the new drive goes in to fit the space.
Walkways and sidewalks
Front walks, side paths to the gate, and walkways between the driveway and the back yard. A short walkway can be a sensible add-on when other exterior work is already planned.
Slabs
Simple residential slabs where you need a flat, solid surface. Tell us what the slab is for and how big it needs to be, and we will talk it through at the estimate visit.
Replacing damaged concrete
Sections that have heaved, sunk, broken up or started to tilt toward the house can be removed and replaced. We look at what caused it before we price the new section.
What Houston Ground Means for Concrete
Much of the Houston area sits on clay soil that swells when it gets wet and shrinks as it dries out. Go from a dry summer to a wet stretch and the ground under a driveway or a patio moves with it. That movement is one of the main reasons local concrete cracks and settles, and it is why the work before the pour matters as much as the pour itself.
Water is the other half of it. Water that pools against a foundation or sits under a slab is the thing you most want to avoid. We will explain what the job involves in the estimate, in plain language, so you know what you are paying for.
Concrete also connects to the rest of the house. Gutters that dump water at the corner of a patio, or a downspout that drains onto the driveway, can wear away the ground under the slab over time. If we see that, we will point it out. We also install and replace gutters, so that can be part of the same conversation.
Before You Call About Concrete
A few details make the first visit more useful. None of them are required, but they help us understand the job quickly.
- What the surface is for. Parking a truck, setting a grill and a table, or just a cleaner path to the door.
- Rough size. Pacing it off is close enough for the first call.
- What is there now. Bare ground, grass, gravel or old concrete that has to come out first.
- How water moves. If you have seen puddles or a spot that stays wet after rain, tell us where.
- Access. Whether the area can be reached from the street or only through a gate or the back yard.
How a Concrete Job Runs
It starts with the free estimate. We look at the area with you, measure it, and ask how you plan to use the space. That tells us how the job should be laid out. You get the estimate in plain terms before you commit to anything.
Once the work starts, we stay in touch at every step until the job is done. We tell you how long to keep cars and foot traffic off the new surface. When it is finished, the crew cleans up the site and we make sure you are happy with the finished job.
