Most roof problems start small. A few shingles go missing after a windy night, a seal around a vent pipe cracks, or a brown ring shows up on the ceiling after a heavy rain. Caught early, a lot of that is a straightforward repair. Left alone, the same small problem lets water into the decking, the insulation and the rooms below, and the bill grows with every storm.
Roofshire Construction serves greater Houston, from Conroe down to Pearland and Fresno. The first visit is a free inspection: we find where the water is actually getting in, which is often not directly above the stain, and show you what we found. Then you get a free estimate for the repair, and a straight answer if we think the roof is past the point where repairs make sense.
We are a roofing contractor first, but we also do drywall and interior work. That matters when a leak has already reached the inside of the house, because we can fix the roof and then the ceiling, in that order, without you having to bring in a second contractor.

Common Roof Repairs We Handle
These are the problems a repair usually solves without a new roof.
Roof leaks
Water travels. It can come in at a nail hole or a gap in the flashing, run along the underside of the roof deck, and drip onto the ceiling several feet away. That is why patching the spot directly above a stain so often fails. We trace the leak back to where it enters the roof and fix it there.
Missing, cracked or lifted shingles
Strong wind gets under the edge of a shingle, breaks the seal and either lifts it or tears it off. Hail can crack shingles or knock off the granules that protect them from the sun. A handful of damaged shingles can usually be replaced individually. We repair the damaged section and finish it.
Flashing around chimneys, walls and skylights
Flashing is the metal that seals the joints where the roof meets something else: a chimney, a wall, a skylight or the valley between two slopes. When it rusts, comes loose or was sealed with caulk that has dried out, water gets behind it. Flashing is a common place for a leak to start, more so than the shingles themselves.
Vents, pipe boots and ridge caps
Every pipe that comes through the roof has a rubber or metal boot around it, and those boots crack in the sun long before the shingles wear out. Roof vents and ridge caps can also loosen or take storm damage. These are small parts, but they are some of the most common places for a leak to start.
Storm damage in one area
If a branch came down on one part of the roof, or a storm took shingles off one slope, a repair to that section may be all you need. If the damage turns out to cover the whole roof, see our page on hail and storm damage, which explains how we look at that.
When a Repair Stops Making Sense
If a new roof is the better choice, we tell you. These are the situations where we usually recommend talking about a roof replacement instead.
The same leak, again
If a spot has already been patched once or twice and is leaking again, the problem is usually bigger than that spot. More patching just adds cost to a roof that needs to come off.
The whole roof is worn
When shingles across the roof are curling, losing granules or cracking, replacing a few of them does not change the condition of the rest. The next storm finds the next weak spot.
The damage is everywhere
Hail damage rarely stays on one slope. If the inspection shows damage on every side, a repair fixes a fraction of the problem.
The deck underneath is soft
If water has been getting in long enough to soften the boards under the shingles, the fix goes deeper than a shingle repair, and that is usually the point where a new roof is the better use of your money.
In every case the choice is yours. We show you what we found, explain the options, and give you a free estimate for whichever way you want to go.
Water Stains on the Ceiling? Fix the Roof First
A stain on the ceiling, bubbling paint, or drywall that feels soft is almost always a roof problem showing up indoors. Painting over it or replacing the drywall before the leak is fixed means doing the job twice. We find and repair the leak on the roof, and then we repair the damaged section of drywall and finish it. If the damage is bigger than one patch, our interior remodeling page covers larger jobs.
